Child safety standards

Our standards

Stake prohibits any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors. This includes, without exception:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — sharing it, requesting it, or linking to it.
• Grooming, solicitation, or sexual contact with a minor, or any attempt to arrange it.
• Minors on the platform at all — Stake is 18+, and an account that belongs to a minor is removed when we find it.
• Sexualized depictions of minors of any kind, real or generated.

Violations end the account on the spot. Where the law requires — and wherever we believe a child is at risk — we escalate to the authorities described below.

An adults-only service

Every Stake account requires a date of birth at signup, and accounts under 18 cannot be created. Profiles display the age computed from that birth date. If we determine an account holder is under 18 — from a report, moderation review, or verification — the account is removed.

Photo verification (a reviewed selfie check) further ties accounts to the real adults who made them.

Reporting in the app

Every profile and every conversation in Stake carries a Report action. If you see anything that involves a minor — an underage user, CSAM, grooming, or any sexualization of a child — report it there: reports go straight into our moderation queue with the context attached. You can also block any user instantly, which removes you from each other's view entirely.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first.

How we enforce

• Human review. Reports open a moderation case and are reviewed by a person.
• Automatic protective hiding. A profile reported by five or more distinct people is hidden from discovery automatically, before review completes.
• Photo moderation. Rejected photos never enter discovery.
• Bans. Confirmed violations end the account. For child-safety violations there are no warnings and no second accounts — we retain the minimal record needed to keep a banned person from returning.

CSAM: removal and reporting

When we identify CSAM or apparent child sexual exploitation on Stake, we act in this order:

1. Remove the content from the service and preserve the evidence securely, as the law requires.
2. Terminate the account involved.
3. Report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the corresponding authority in the relevant jurisdiction.
4. Cooperate with any resulting law-enforcement investigation.

Working with authorities

Stake complies with child safety law in the regions where the app is available, including mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse material to NCMEC and regional equivalents, and responds to lawful requests from law enforcement concerning child safety without delay.
